Chris Fisher, MD is a pioneer of trauma care programs in the state of Nevada, being directly involved with the development of the Level II Trauma Center at Sunrise Hospital. He is Medical Director of the Trauma Department at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, is dual board-certified in general surgery and surgical critical care as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. At Desert Surgical Associates, Dr. Fisher implements his skills and years of experience to successfully treat complex biliary, intestinal, and pancreatic diseases as well as hernias, providing patients with state-of-the-art surgical techniques and treatments to ensure the best outcomes. Through his work in the field of trauma treatment of various types, he has become a sought-after teacher and has participated in presentations across the country. Dr. Fisher Doctorate from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey did a fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of California SD. In addition, he trained at the prestigious Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA. Dr. Fisher enjoys sports car and motorcycle racing, outdoor sports such as skiing and hiking, and playing with his two dogs-a a German Shepherd and Rottweiler--whom he considers "members of the family".

NANCY RIVERA, MD General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Trauma Surgery & Critical Care Surgery

Nancy Rivera, MD, fellowship-trained in Surgical Critical Care medicine and board-certified in General Surgery, joins the elite staff of Desert Surgical Associates in August of 2018. Dr. Rivera, a New Mexican native, did her undergraduate training at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM.

She subsequently attained her Medical Doctorate at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 2011. Dr. Rivera’s General Surgery Residency training was completed at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine (2011-2016), where she was named Outstanding Chief Resident in Emergency General Surgery in 2016. Following residency, Dr. Rivera relocated to Las Vegas where she completed her Surgical Critical Care/Acute Care Surgery Fellowship training at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. (2016-2018). She cares for patients in the field of general surgery, minimally invasive surgery, trauma, and critical care. Dr. Rivera’s areas of interest include emergency surgery and breast surgery, as well as colorectal surgery, gall bladder surgeries, abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia repair, reflux surgeries and more. Dr Rivera is bilingual in English & Spanish.

While she graduated with her bachelor's degree in nursing and psychology, she trod down a path that lead her to obtain her Master of Science degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in addition to her Nurse Practitioner Degree and ultimately earn a Doctor of Philosophy by 2005. Dr. Stucke has since taken on roles in nursing and academics, from being trauma and general surgery nurse practitioner in Pennsylvania to conducting research in Pennsylvania and New York. She was also employed as an assistant professor at the School of Nursing at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Dr. Stucke has been the trauma and general surgery nurse practitioner with this group since 2005 and continues to focus on patient care, clinical research, education, and giving back to the community.

Dr. Stefan N Chock MD is an accomplished surgeon with extensive in trauma and surgical critical care. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Riverside, and then pursued his Masters in Physiology before earning his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School.

Dr. Chock completed his surgical residency at Harrisburg Hospital in Pennsylvania, where he gained valuable experience in various surgical procedures. He then pursued a Trauma and Surgical Critical Care fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center’s prestigious Baltimore Shock Trauma Center, where he trained under some of the most renowned surgeons in the field.

As one of the original surgeons who helped launch the Sunrise Hospital Trauma Center in Las Vegas, Dr. Chock played a critical role in responding to the Route 91 shooting, the largest mass shooting in the nation’s history. Along with his colleagues, Dr. Chock worked tirelessly to provide life saving care to victims of this tragic event.

In addition to his extensive clinical experience, he has also made significant contributions to the field of medicine through his research. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine, on a variety of topics related to trauma and critical care surgery.

Dr. Chock is not only an accomplished surgeon and researcher, but he is also a dedicated educator. He is passionate about teaching and have been actively involved in training surgery residents for many years. Dr. Chock has served as a mentor to countless residents, sharing his expertise and experience to help them develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their own careers.

His commitment to education has not gone unnoticed. He has been recognized with the Faculty Teaching Award twice, a prestigious honor that is awarded to only a select few physicians each year. His dedication to teaching has not only helped to shape the careers of countless surgery residents but has also contributed to the advancement of the field of medicine as a whole.

BEN DAVIS, MD, MPH, FACS, Acute Care Surgery, Critical Care Surgery, Trauma Surgery

Dr. Ben Davis earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his general surgical residency at the University Hospital and Clinics, Columbia, Missouri where he was subsequently chief resident.

He completed fellowships in Surgical Critical Care at the University of Missouri Health Sciences Center, Columbia, Missouri, and thoracic oncology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. He is also a graduate of the Harvard School of Public Health, where he earned an MPH.


Dr. Davis practices general surgery, surgical critical care, and trauma surgery. He has contributed to the formation of the trauma programs at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; both programs met the criteria to become American College of Surgeons Verified Level II trauma programs.


He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general surgery and surgical critical care. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

BRANDY PADILLA-JONES, MD, FACS, Trauma Surgery, General Surgery & Critical Care Surgery

Dr. Jones is  a trauma and general surgeon with dual board certifications in General Surgery and Trauma & Surgical Critical Care and recently became certified in robotic surgery. She is a true Southwest girl at heart, having grown up in Rural Colorado. She attended Fort Lewis College and majored in Cell and Molecular Biology. She later attended the University of  New Mexico for medical school and General Surgery Residency. She completed her fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at University of Texas Houston.  

Dr. Jones is passionate about providing up to date, evidence based care for her patients and strives to keep up on the latest research and technologies in her field. She also enjoys teaching and training new generations of surgeons. She is the Associate Program Director of the Sunrise-Mountainview HCS GME Residency Program.    

During her free time Dr. Jones enjoys spending time with her family and the many, many family pets. Cooking is a passion for her, Italian food being her favorite. She is a self proclaimed 'Foodie' and also enjoys wine tasting and traveling when she is able.  

RODRIGO RORIGUEZ, MD, General Surgery & Critical Care Surgery

Dr. Rodrigo Rodriguez grew up in Guatemala where he obtained his medical degree from the Universidad de San Carlos. After working as a research fellow for the University of New Mexico Cancer Center, he completed his surgical residency at the University of New Mexico Hospital. Dr. Rodriguez then proceeded to complete his Surgical Critical Care/Acute Care Surgery Fellowship at Vanderbilt University, where he earned the Canavan and Gavin Fellow Award. Dr. Rodriguez is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Dr. Alexa Dorricott, MD is board certified in both General Surgery and Trauma & Surgical Critical Care. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Ohio State University where she also Participated in collegiate sports as a pole vaulter and won the Scholar Athlete award. She obtained her medical degree from Ross University in 2015. She then moved to Chicago where she completed her General Surgery Residency at Mount Sinai. During her time at Mount Sinai she was named Resident of the Year. Following residency, Dr. Dorricott moved to Las Vegas where she completed a two year Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery Fellowship at the University of Nevada, UMC hospital. During her time at UMC she also became certified in Robotic Surgery. Dr. Dorricott is committed to providing the highest level and most up to date care for her patients.

Dr. Dorricott loves all things outdoors. On her days off you can find her hiking, kayaking, snowboarding or camping. She also loves spending time with her Cane Corso, Sinatra.

She completed her Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) at Touro University Nevada in 2022. Cynthia has over 8 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the acute care setting.
